Over the past few days, it has become clear that Barcelona are seriously considering bringing in a new goalkeeper during the summer transfer window.
With growing concerns about the level of Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny’s hesitation to sign a new deal, the Blaugrana have decided to reinforce the position.
RCD Espanyol breakout star Joan Garcia is seen as the top priority but his arrival seems difficult at this moment.
Another name that has been linked with Barcelona as a potential target for the goalkeeping position is Lucas Chevalier of LOSC Lille.
However, according to the latest update from Carlos Monfort of Jijantes FC, Barcelona have decided to cool off their pursuit of Lucas Chevalier and the chances of his arrival are fading rapidly.

Chevalier has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s best goalkeepers over the past few seasons, playing a key role in Lille securing European football year after year.
Barcelona, thus, had taken note of the 23-year-old French ace as an alternative to reinforce their goalkeeping department in the summer, but he no longer appears to be on the agenda.
Indeed, the update states that the Catalans have made no enquiries with the French shot-stopper’s agent to explore the possibility of a transfer.
As such he is no longer considered an option, with the club having other priorities.
As mentioned previously, Joan Garcia remains the main target for Barcelona but the chances of the move going through are slim.
Brighton & Hove Albion star Bart Verbruggen is another option for the La Liga champions, with an enquiry made for him already.
