La Liga giants Barcelona are giving consideration to bringing a former member of the club’s defensive ranks back to the club in the near future.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Óscar Mingueza as the player in question.
Stopper Mingueza, for his part, is fresh off nothing short of a remarkable start to the new campaign.
Across Celta Vigo’s first four outings of the term, the Spaniard has proved himself a new-look threat in the attacking third.
As much has given rise to five direct goal contributions, courtesy of a pair of goals, and three assists.
And such exploits, evidently, have not gone at all unnoticed at one of Mingueza’s former clubs.
In fact, as per a report from the aforementioned MD, the powers that be at Barcelona are keeping a close eye on the performances of the 25-year-old, with a view to a future reunion.
On the lookout for reinforcements at right-back with a view to next season, the Blaugrana have earmarked Mingueza as a leading option.
For those not aware, this comes with the Camp Nou brass maintaining a buyback option worth €9 million, as part of the deal which sent the La Masia graduate to Celta back in the summer of 2022.
