According to SPORT, Barcelona are on the verge of sealing a deal that will see Dani Rodriguez move to Celta Vigo.

Although the fee has not been mentioned, the agreement includes a buyback option for the Blaugrana, which means the club could bring him back in the future, depending on his development.

Valencia were initially very keen on signing the young winger on loan, and Rayo Vallecano also showed interest.

However, Celta Vigo have moved ahead in recent days with a concrete offer, and all signs now point towards Rodriguez continuing his career in Galicia.

The 20-year-old made his first-team debut for Barcelona last season against Valladolid. Unfortunately, his progress was interrupted when he suffered a collarbone injury shortly after.

Rodriguez had no desire to return to play for Barça Atletic, so his representatives began looking for opportunities at the highest level, and now a move to La Liga rivals looks imminent.

A promising talent with no place

Rodriguez joined Barcelona from Real Sociedad. His performances with the reserve team last season stood out as he scored three goals and became one of the key figures in the side.

This form earned him a call to the first-team dynamic, and under Hansi Flick, he finally made his debut. Sadly, his shoulder injury halted his rise, meaning he also missed out on pre-season with the senior squad.

In recent weeks, several clubs made enquiries about him, but Barcelona were not interested in another loan move.

Instead, the board prioritised a permanent transfer, and Celta Vigo have now stepped up as his next destination.

Rodriguez is known as a quick winger with good passing ability and strong link-up play, making him a natural fit for Barcelona’s style.

His departure will bring in fresh funds, which will help the club with player registrations, while also leaving the door open for a return through the buyback clause.
