Pau Victor is one of the leading candidates to leave FC Barcelona during the upcoming transfer window.
The 23-year-old forward has had a very limited role under Hansi Flick, and the club’s sporting department is already looking to bring in reinforcements in attack – with Marcus Rashford and Luis Diaz among the top targets.
Speaking to COPE (h/t SPORT) ahead of the Catalonia national team’s annual fixture against Costa Rica, Pau Victor addressed his uncertain future.
“We still don’t know. Everyone knows that I haven’t had minutes, but I’m at Barça, at the best club in the world and it’s a pleasure,” said the former Girona youngster.
“I would like to continue, but some things don’t depend on me either. A lot of things need to be discussed and we will end up deciding what is best for everyone. I don’t know if they will bring people in,” he added.
Asked whether he would prefer to join a La Liga side or move abroad, he responded: “The club where I can grow, I don’t care if it’s here or outside because there are very interesting clubs all over the world.”
Despite his lack of minutes, Pau Victor had nothing but praise for his debut season with the senior squad and for coach Hansi Flick.
“All the players, when we don’t play, we would like to play more because we are ambitious. It has been a year of great learning, I am enjoying every day with the best players in the world, my idols,” said the 23-year-old.

“My relationship with Flick has been very good. He cares about everyone and that makes it very easy. When you don’t play, he’s there for you, he encourages you to keep working because he trusts everyone,” he said.
Victor also shared his thoughts on Lamine Yamal’s contract renewal until June 2031, saying:
“We all know about his quality, what he brings…. He’s the best signing we could have made, he’s a differential player and with the age he is, we’ve never seen anything like him before. To be able to enjoy him for more years is special.
“It’s very easy to play with him, he’s very unbalanced, three players can come to him and he won’t lose the ball. It’s a joy to play with him, also with Raphinha or Lewandowski. Obviously I see him winning the Ballon d’Or, I hope he, Raphinha or Pedri wins it.”
Concluding, Victor expressed hope about continuing at Barça and achieving more success, though he acknowledged the challenge, saying:
“We have lacked the icing on the cake, which is the Champions League, but we have had a very, very good year. I hope that next year we can repeat it and improve on it, that’s what we work for every day.
“If we have been able to do that in the first year, with the players we have, we will go on.”
