In a significant development, Barcelona and Juventus have reached an agreement for the transfer of club captain Ronald Araujo.
According to La Repubblica, as relayed by Bianconera News, Juventus have also secured a deal with Araujo himself.
The news is such that the Uruguayan defender is set to travel to Turin next week to undergo medical tests and finalize the contract with his new club.
This move comes after weeks of speculation linking Araujo with Juventus. The Italian club had been waiting for a response from Barcelona, who have now given the green light for the transfer.
The catalyst for this decision was the recent ruling by the Spanish Higher Council (CSD) of Sports, which granted Barcelona a stay of execution against a La Liga ruling.

This decision involved the exclusion of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor from the squad. With the ruling now paused, these two players can continue playing while the final decision is pending, clearing the way for Araujo’s transfer.
Araujo, who had already signalled his willingness to move, will now head to Turin to complete the necessary medical checks and officially join Juventus.
His arrival is seen as a major boost for Juventus, particularly in strengthening their defence. This move comes at a crucial time for the Italian side, who have been struggling defensively following the injury to Gleison Bremer.
Araujo brings several key attributes to the table, including strong one-on-one defending, aerial ability, and excellent pace. These qualities make him a perfect fit for the defensive system under coach Thiago Motta.
Juventus will hope that Araujo can provide the stability and leadership needed to improve their defensive performance as they push forward in domestic and European competitions.
