In recent weeks, it has been clear to see that FC Barcelona is not performing at the level expected of them. With a strong start to the season, many expected the Catalan giants to improve their lead in La Liga by now. Unfortunately, however, Barcelona has managed to completely blow it instead.
The recent loss to Atletico Madrid only further hurt the team’s spirit despite the fact that Hansi Flick’s team played a great game. Unfortunately, the cruel nature of football can be as such sometimes, but that also means that La Blaugrana need to find solutions quickly given their recent slump.
Despite these results, however, it would appear that the transfer plans already established by the likes of Deco and Barcelona remain unchanged. As highlighted by SPORT, both the plans for the winter transfer window and the summer transfer window are the same as they were before.
For January 2025, the plan is to not end up signing any player while also not selling any player. In case a solid offer arrives for an out-of-favor player, only then would there be any considerations for a potential departure. As for arrivals, the only situation that could lead to that possibility becoming a reality is if the team suffers a significant injury to a player.
However, one thing that the club is definitely working on is the registration of players such as Dani Olmo and Pau Victor. At the moment, it is expected that the registration issue will be solved soon, but club president Joan Laporta’s recent update was not too comforting.
As for the summer transfer window, that is when the club will be looking to make some significant moves. So far, Hansi Flick came into Barcelona knowing that he would not be able to demand immediate signings, and he has stayed true to his word so far and will likely do so in January as well.
In the summer window, however, Barcelona is looking to bring in a top left-winger alongside two fullbacks as well. Moreover, there could also be the option of signing a new striker to provide competition to Robert Lewandowski, as well as a more physical midfielder to provide that strength in the heart of the pitch, something that Barça currently does not have.
