FC Barcelona are always working on improving their team and looking ahead to the future. Moreover, due to their rather limited financial freedom, it makes sense for the Catalan club to be a bit more cautious in this regard. However, there is more than just one way for Barcelona to improve their squad.
One method which is both feasible and more accessible for Barcelona is the renewal of their current players. Knowing that signing players in the future can be both unpredictable and expensive, it is better for La Blaugrana to at least tie down the players they already have.
At the moment, one of the club’s biggest priorities is to tie down the renewals of some of their most significant players. Unwilling to let their contracts expire at any point and to secure their own interests, Barcelona is quite attentive to their priority at the moment.
Fortunately, the ever-reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano (h/t Reshad Rahman) has now reported that Barcelona are now at an advanced stage when it comes to the renewal talks in the case of the contract negotiations with both Pedri and Gavi’s respective representatives.
Both former Golden Boy and Kopa Trophy winners are seen as fundamental pieces of this team moving forward. The two young midfielders have proven time and time again why they are so important to Barcelona, and it seems that the club wants that to remain the case for as long as possible.
For the two Spaniards, Barcelona hopes to tie them down until around 2030 at least, as per previous reports. Moreover, the club has always maintained optimism about renewing the two youngsters, and if any renewal talks have posed any challenges so far, it has been for other players.
Even at that end, the situation of players like Ronald Araujo have now improved as well. The chances of renewing the Uruguayan defender initially seemed to be unclear, but it is now being reported that even the South American star is feeling positive about staying with Barcelona moving forward.
