Ballon d’Or results: 5 Real Madrid stars in top-10/Barcelona star finishes 8th | OneFootball

The final standings for the 2024 Ballon d’Or have on Monday night been unveiled.

And representatives from Spanish football, at club and international level alike, feature front and centre in the top-10.

After word was forthcoming earlier in the day that he had leapfrogged Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. into top spot, Manchester City midfielder Rodri, as expected, was handed the latest ‘Golden Ball’.

The 28-year-old was rewarded for his efforts not only with City, but Spain, too, having proven an absolutely integral figure in Luis de la Fuente’s Euro 2024-winning La Roja squad over the summer.

As much saw Vinícius forced to make do with 2nd, with Real Madrid teammate Jude Bellingham having rounded out the podium places in 3rd.

Also representing reigning La Liga and Champions League holders Real in the top-10 were sidelined defender Dani Carvajal (4th), summer addition Kylian Mbappé (6th), and the retired Toni Kroos (9th).

Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, meanwhile, added to his Kopa Trophy triumph with a spot in 8th in the standings.
