Backup Barcelona star to retain starting place vs Levante | OneFootball

A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona generally considered 2nd choice is in line for his 2nd successive starting berth this weekend.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Ferran Torres as the player in question.

Frontman Ferran, for his part, was of course in from the off in Barcelona’s season opener against Osasuna last Saturday.

This came with Robert Lewandowski unavailable owing to injury.

And the former went on to take full advantage of his opportunity, finding the net in style en route to a 3-0 Blaugrana triumph.

With Lewandowski now back fit and firing, it had nevertheless been suggested that Ferran could be dropped back to the bench this coming weekend, for Barca’s trip to Levante.

As alluded to above, however, this is now considered to be highly unlikely.

As per a report from Sport:

‘Looking ahead to the second matchday at the Ciutat de València against Levante, everything points to Ferran biting the spearhead again in the starting eleven.’
