Manchester United could be set for some good news on the injury front once the international break ends if recent reports are to be believed.

Ruben Amorim suffered a major blow when Ayden Heaven had to be stretchered off against Leicester City in the last game before the break.

The 18-year-old looked in visible pain as he dropped down to the ground and at that moment it looked like it could be a serious injury.

With Lisandro Martinez and Leny Yoro sidelined, the head coach was fretting due to the lack of alternatives for the left-sided centre-back position.

Heaven back?

But The Manchester Evening News have now revealed that the former Arsenal starlet is now out of his protective boot and there is a decent chance of him resuming training once the international break ends.

And with United not in action before April 1, Heaven could be back in contention for minutes for the Premier League game against Nottingham Forest.

“The Manchester Evening News understands that Heaven is now out of his protective boot and has a chance of resuming training after the international break.

“United do not have a fixture until they face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday April 1, potentially giving the former Arsenal man enough time to recover.”

Great news for Amorim

The January signing has made four appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, including starting the last two games. And he has looked a class apart.

While his senior teammates were fumbling against the Foxes, the 18-year-old stood like a rock while his calmness under pressure stood out.

Amorim will be delighted if Heaven can return early as he has very few options at the back given Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire are also out injured.

April is a huge month for the club with the 20-time English league champions having huge games both in the English top-flight and in Europe and the head coach needs all the help he can get.
