Austin FC and LAFC have postponed their match scheduled for Saturday night in the Texas capital amid devastating flash flooding that has left at least 32 people dead in Central Texas and dozens more missing, according to recent news reports.

A new date for the fixture has yet to be announced. All tickets for Saturday's match will be honored on the rescheduled date.

"Austin FC expresses its deepest sympathy for those affected by the devastating flooding that is impacting communities across Central Texas," reads a club statement. "Our hearts go out to the families, friends, and neighbors who have lost their lives, and we urge that those who are able find their way to safety. We also want to express our gratitude and respect for those who are responding to the crisis with life-saving measures."

The postponement comes less than three full weeks before Austin is slated to host the 2025 MLS All-Star Game at Q2 Stadium on Wednesday, July 23.

Torrential rains in the region exceeded local forecasts on Friday morning, causing the level of the Guadeloupe River and other local bodies of water to rise to levels far higher than expected.

The postponement is the second in as many years involving severe weather and Texas MLS clubs. In 2024, the Houston Dynamo and LAFC had to postpone their July 17 fixture due to Hurricane Beryl. That match was eventually made up during the September 2024 international window.

This season, Austin already has a match scheduled during that September window against Sporting Kansas City, and LAFC alread has a game scheduled for the first Wednesday of the October window.
