Atlético Madrid left unhappy with Julián Alvarez’s agent amid Barcelona links | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Atlético Madrid were left altogether unimpressed by a recent round of comments laid out by Julián Alvarez’s representative.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.

Frontman Alvarez is for his part of course fresh off a stellar debut campaign in Spain’s capital, which gave rise to 29 goals and seven assists across all competitions.

With such production, though, comes inevitable outside interest.

And one club rumoured to have set their sights firmly on Alvarez’s signing for the not-so-distant future are Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.

Speaking during a recent appearance in front of the media, the Argentine’s agent, Fernando Hidalgo, was therefore drawn on the speculation linking his client with a Camp Nou switch:

And Hidalgo went on to add fuel to the fire, in telling Sólo para culés (as cited by MD):

“It’s day-to-day at Atlético . We’ll see how the negotiations go. Football is ever-changing. They’ll have to communicate with the club, which will assess the situation, and then it will be a negotiation between the three parties.”

And such comments, it would appear, were not taken to kindly by those in the boardroom at the Metropolitano.

As per MD, Atlético, adamant that Alvarez will be going absolutely nowhere any time soon, were ‘not happy’ with the behaviour of their star frontman’s agent.

It now remains to be seen if any further fallout between the parties is forthcoming…
