Atalanta make new offer for Celtic’s Matt O’Riley | OneFootball

Serie A giants Atalanta have now made a new offer for Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley, after a previous approach was rejected.

La Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Atalanta have been following their interest in O’Riley for quite a while and after an initial rejection, they have retouched their offer in the last few hours.

They had previously offered €15 million plus bonuses of €3 million, but their new offer is at €18 million and bonuses of €3 million, taking the offer upto €21 million. Having said that, the amount is still not enough to convince the Hoops, who want a fee of €27 million to sell the Dane.

O’Riley appreciates the interest from Atalanta and would be interested in the move and an agreement in principle already exists. As of now, there is a difference of about €5 million or €6 million between the two parties and it could be resolved soon.
