Atalanta expected to sign Everton’s Ben Godfrey | OneFootball

Serie A side Atalanta are expected to seal the signature of Everton defender Ben Godfrey in the next few hours.

La Dea had made an offer for Godfrey which was expected to be lower than Everton’s demands but it seems as if they will soon land the Englishman.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Atalanta are very close to signing Godfrey and they are one step away from signing him. The expectation is that in the next few hours, they would reach an agreement and would match Everton’s demands for the defender.

They could close the move by the evening. It was reported that Godfrey had attracted attention from another club who were offering the same fee as Everton’s demands but Atalanta are now all but set to seal the move.

Godfrey wasn’t quite a regular for the Toffees last season but the club have to sell before the month to meet FFP deadline and they seem set to sell the player.
