The 24-year-old joins for an undisclosed fee after spending last season on loan at the Women’s Super League (WSL) side.

She made 15 appearances in all competitions for Villa last season.

Who is new Aston Villa signing Jill Baijings?

New Aston Villa signing Jill Baijings is a 24-year-old Dutch midfielder who was born in Terheijden.

She started her career for Dutch side Heerenveen, before joining Frauen-Bundesliga side SGS Essen in 2020.

Baijings joined Bayer Leverkusen in 2022, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances.

She spent just one season at Leverkusen before joining German rivals Bayern Munich. Despite winning the German league title in 2024, she only made 14 appearances in two years.

Baijings joined Aston Villa on loan last summer but missed the first-half of the season because of an injury.

The midfielder made her debut as a second-half substitute in Aston Villa’s Women’s FA Cup clash with Bristol Rovers on January 12th.

In total, she made 15 appearances for Villa and scored one goal.

Who else have Aston Villa signed this summer?

Jill Baijings is Aston Villa’s third signing of the summer transfer window.

The WSL side signed Euro 2022 winner Ellie Roebuck, after she mutually agreed to terminate her contract with Barcelona.

Roebuck, who was previously at Manchester City, struggled for starts at Barcelona, and ultimately missed England’s Euro 2025 squad.

The goalkeeper won the Women’s Super League once, and the FA Cup and League Cup three times each with City. With Barcelona, Roebuck won the league and cup double in her one year at the club.

Villa have also signed Dutch defender Lynn Wilms from VfL Wolfsburg.

The 24-year-old spent four years at Wolfsburg, where she made more than 100 appearances for the two-time Women’s Champions League winners.

She was part of the Netherlands’ squads at Euro 2025, which crashed out of the group stage.

When does the WSL summer transfer window end?

The summer transfer window for Women’s Super League clubs will officially close on Thursday, September 4.

There have been plenty of big signings this summer already including Chloe Kelly and Taylor Hinds joining Arsenal from Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

Arsenal could be about to break the transfer record for Liverpool star Olivia Smith. The two clubs have reportedly agreed a deal which would see Smith become the first ever £1m women’s player.
