Aston Villa are reportedly more likely to agree a permanent deal for Marco Asensio than Manchester United attacker Marcus Rashford this summer.
The English forward fell out of favour at United in December and did not play for the club for almost two months before agreeing a loan deal to Villa at the end of January.
Rashford has put in a mixed bag of performances so far in Birmingham, sometimes looking his former self, like when he terrorised Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
At other times, he has remained the inconsistent player United fans have become accustomed to over the years.
Villa boss Unai Emery has been glowing in his praise of the 27 year old, claiming that they are “very happy” with his progress on loan in Birmingham.
It has been reported that Rashford realises he has no future at United while Ruben Amorim is in charge. Moreover, the Red Devils will be banking on his sale to carry out the modifications to their squad that their fans are desperate for.
Nonetheless, respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has told GIVEMESPORT that, Villa are in fact, more likely to sign Marco Asensio than Rashford at the end of the season.
Commenting on the issue he claimed, “for Asensio, I think it’s going to be easier, because in this case, Asensio has a different salary compared to Marcus Rashford.”
The Italian journalist also stated that Villa’s great working relationship with Paris Saint-Germain will also play a role.
“So Aston Villa are very happy with Asensio, and the relationship with PSG is excellent for a long time between Monchi and Nasser Al-Khelaifi.”
“So I think there is a good possibility to find a solution for Marco Asensio.”
There have been reports recently that Rashford is eyeing a move to a Champions League club and still harbours ambitions to sign for FC Barcelona in the summer.
