Aston Villa's preparations ahead of the upcoming 2025/26 Premier League season continued in the United States with a 2-2 draw against MLS outfit Nashville SC.

Scorers: Corcoran 75', Surridge 85'; Watkins 18', Malen 64'

Unai Emery's Villains got off to the required start when star striker Ollie Watkins headed home to put the Premier League side ahead in the 18th minute after Lucas Digne turned provider with a whipped-in cross into the box.

Their one-goal advantage stood until the half-time interval, but it would be Villa that would go on to double their advantage just after the hour mark.

Dutch forward Donyell Malen dispatched a curled finish into the far corner beyond Nashville shot-stopper Brian Schwake to seal all three points at Geodis Park in the 64th minute.

Nashville would finally get on the board in the 75th minute thanks to young midfielder Matthew Corcoran before equalising ten minutes later through leading goal-getter Sam Surridge.

The late strike from the former Nottingham Forest forward would guarantee a shared result on the evening as Villa go back to the drawing board across what has been a lackluster pre-season campaign.
