La Liga giants Barcelona could be afforded a timely boost on the financial front by their counterparts at Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
This comes amid confirmation that Villa have set their sights on the signature of Celta Vigo star Óscar Mingueza.
Defender Mingueza has enjoyed a superb campaign on the books of Celta, with two goals and five assists to his name to date.
So impressive has the 25-year-old looked, in fact, that he has even been included in Spain boss Luis de la Fuente’s most recent squad lists.
And such exploits have not gone at all unnoticed across the continent.
So much so that, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Aston Villa are giving serious consideration to tabling an offer for Mingueza’s signature.
And, in the case of as much being accepted, Celta Vigo would not be the only ones in line to benefit from a financial standpoint.
As part of the deal which saw Mingueza make the move to Balaídos in the summer of 2022, Barcelona secured a 50% sell-on clause.
This would mean a significant cash injection, potentially in the region of €10 million, coming the way of the Blaugrana for their former defender.
