Arsenal host Crystal Palace in the Premier League this evening, in a fixture that could decide the outcome of the title.
Defeat for the Gunners would confirm Liverpool as Premier League champions tonight. Arsenal will want to delay the inevitable, though the focus for Mikel Arteta’s side this season is Europe.
The North Londoners face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-finals next week and the rescheduling of this fixture has benefitted their cause. Tonight’s game has been moved due to Palace’s involvement in this weekend’s FA Cup semi-finals.
Palace’s good run of form has slowed with just one win in five games across all competitions. However, the Eagles showed heart to battle to a goalless draw with Bournemouth at the weekend, despite Chris Richards’ first-half red card.
Mikel Arteta could rest key personnel with Arsenal’s primary focus the Champions League. Bukayo Saka was subjected to some rough treatment at Ipswich at the weekend, including an awful challenge from Leif Davis that saw the full-back dismissed. Saka was pictured with strapping on his ankle and is unlikely to be risked from the start with PSG on the horizon.
Arsenal remain without Riccardo Calafiori and Jorginho, with the latter set to miss the rest of the campaign. Takehiro Tomiyasu, Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Gabriel remain unavailable.
Arsenal predicted XI: Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Partey, Rice, Odegaard; Nwaneri, Trossard, Merino.
Arsenal host Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday 23rd April 2025. Kick-off at the Emirates is 20:00 BST.
