The Real Sociedad midfielder came close to a move to Liverpool in the summer
Martin Zubimendi has responded to fresh reports linking him with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal being the most recent side rumoured to be interested in the Real Sociedad and Spain midfielder.
The 25-year-old came close to joining Liverpool in the summer, only for the deal to break down after he reportedly refused to put in a transfer request at the Basque club.
The Gunners have previously held an interest in the player and have recently been touted as a landing spot.
With Arsenal trailing the Reds by nine points in the league, they are now said to be the side possibly hoping to sign Zubimendi, but he is not entertaining any discussion with the transfer window not open for another six weeks.
“There will always be rumours and now that January is approaching, there will be too, but I don’t waste energy on outside noise,” he told Estadio Deportivo.
“I’m happy with the way I’m handling it and I’m going to handle it.”
Zubimendi has also been linked with Manchester City as a replacement for his international teammate Rodri, who is out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury.
