Arsenal will seek to end their five-game winless slump when they host Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Premier League clash will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event, kicking off at 4:30pm.
Arsenal (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Odegaard, Partey, Rice; Saka, Trossard, Martinelli
Arsenal may be without 10 players for Sunday’s showdown.
Mikel Arteta revealed last month Gabriel will have surgery on a hamstring issue, with the aim to be ready for the beginning of next season. Also absent from the Gunners’ back line is Takehiro Tomiyasu, who is not expected back until the end of the year.
Mikel Merino is suspended for this game after picking up two yellow cards and being sent off in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool last week.
Gabriel Jesus ruptured his ACL and will be unavailable for the rest of the season. However, Arteta is hopeful that Kai Havertz could feature in his matchday squad for the first time in four months against Newcastle, with the striker having returned to training this week.
Jurrien Timber, Jorginho, Declan Rice, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli are all doubts for the game.
After spending most of the season embroiled in a title race with Liverpool, Arsenal sensationally find themselves at risk of missing out on Champions League football with a couple of games to go.
If the Gunners lose their final two games of the season – Newcastle at home and Southampton away – they could slip out of the top five.
For this to happen, it would require Newcastle, Manchester City, Chelsea and Aston Villa to all win their remaining games.
Victory for Arsenal on Sunday would nip any worries of missing out on the Champions League in the bud, as it would secure them qualification to next season’s competition and virtually wrap up the battle for second place.
