Jordan Davies reports that Arsenal are confident that Kai Havertz will be fit and ready to play for them after the international break, even though he’s currently absent for Germany through injury.

Havertz has reportedly been managing a minor knee injury since the end of last season, and the current rest has come at a good time for him after a busy few months.

The forward obviously didn’t get much of a chance to rest over the summer, with Germany playing as hosts at Euro 2024 and Havertz starting for them.

Havertz withdrew from the Germany squad over the weekend with knee problems, with head coach Julian Nagelsmann calling up Jonathan Burkardt in his place.

But Charles Watts quickly reported that the sense is that the injury is not one to be overly concerned about. Havertz was fine to finish the Southampton game, Arsenal just didn’t want to take any risks.

That was welcome news for the fans, with Havertz on an excellent run of form and some tricky fixtures coming up.

Mikel Arteta’s side return from the break with an away trip to Bournemouth and a home game against Shakhtar Donetsk, but after that they face league leaders Liverpool.

The team then have four away games in a row, facing Preston North End, Newcastle United, Inter Milan, and Chelsea before the November break.
