Wolverhampton Wanderers have secured Matheus Cunha with a long-term contract extension after he was heavily linked with a move during the winter transfer window. However, speculation about his future hasn’t gone away.
Cunha has become a key figure for Wolves, excelling in multiple attacking roles. Whether playing as an attacking midfielder, second striker, or center-forward, the Brazilian has adapted seamlessly and made a significant impact.
His strong performances have attracted interest from top clubs, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly keeping an eye on him, according to Fichajes. While Wolves rate him highly, reports suggest they could consider offers exceeding €70 million.
Sky Sports News also reported that Nottingham Forest attempted to sign Cunha in the winter window with a club-record bid of around £60 million.

Amid the rumors linking Cunha away from Wolves, Liverpool manager Arne Slot had high praise for the Brazilian as he spoke about the difference in quality between the Premier League and the Netherlands.
“Cunha is exactly the kind of player I mean when I compare this league to the one I worked in before,” Slot said (h/t Diario AS).
“Wolverhampton are 17th, but if you look at the Netherlands, you won’t find a single player from a 17th-placed team who could play for Ajax, PSV, or Feyenoord. Cunha has real quality and the ability to play for one of the top five teams in England, which shows just how tough this league is.”
Diario AS reported that Manchester United are interested in Cunha, with a summer move potentially on the horizon. The Spanish outlet noted that his £62.5 million release clause is seen as a bargain given his quality and attacking contributions.
