Manchester United are reportedly ahead of the competition in the race for Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi.
The 23-year-old is a German international of Nigerian origins. He was born and raised in Munchen, so he naturally started his career at Bayern Munich’s academy before representing several clubs between Germany and Austria.
After making waves at RB Salzburg, BVB splashed €35 million to secure his services in the summer of 2022. Since then, he has had his highs and lows at the Signal Iduna Park, but is now coming into his own. This season, he also already contributed with eight goals and five assists in all competitions.
Nevertheless, his most significant strike was arguably his ‘magnificent’ long-range effort in Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Lille. The first-leg tie ended in a 1-1 draw, setting up a thrilling second leg in France.
But according to Fichajes.net, Adeyemi isn’t expected to dwell for too long at Dortmund. The source believes the Bundesliga giants could decide to cash in on him while they can still collect a significant profit. After all, his contract is only valid until the summer of 2027.
The German is blessed with speed, technique and impressive dribbling skills, which makes him one of the most sought-after stars in Europe. The source reveals interest from Paris Saint-Germain and his former club Bayern Munich, but insists that Man Utd is the ‘best-placed’ club to prevail in the race.
Adeyemi can interpret various roles in the final third, but as a left-footed player, he mostly enjoys cutting from the right wing. Hence, the Dortmund star could be a natural replacement for Antony who is currently on loan at Real Betis, but is expected to seal a permanent transfer next summer.
As Stretty News exclusively revealed, Man Utd are hoping to collect €40-50 million from the Brazilian’s sale.
