Stanislav Lobotka’s handball sent Florian Thauvin to the spot. Despite Alex Meret’s initial save, the Frenchman guided the rebound home to put Udinese 1-0 up at the break. However, Napoli leveled the score five minutes into the second half through Romelu Lukaku.

“We played with character and quality, we had chances in the first half that were not taken, we need to continue along this path,” the Napoli boss continued. “I said it after the defeat to Lazio too, our team needs to play this type of football, keeping the ball, trying to dominate the match, pressing high and not leaving the initiative to the other team.
