Hansi Flick arrived at FC Barcelona in very tough circumstances, right after a trophyless season and at a time when the Blaugrana club was going through very difficult economic conditions and was thus unable to significantly enhance its ranks in the last summer transfer window.
However, the German has not allowed any of these handicaps to interfere with the performances of his team, and has created a machine that is proving to be one of the best teams in Europe, competing for all the possible titles.
Flick has taken a highly involved approach and studied the Catalan club in great detail to bring the best out of his team and to embark on a medium-long term project, including putting a high emphasis on understanding the dynamics of La Masia.
Meanwhile, he has also asked Barcelona to make some efforts, and according to SPORT, the latest request that the German tactician has made to the club is to speed up the creation of a residence for the first team at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.
In one of his first visits to this facility, Flick had asked Deco whether there was an option for the players to stay overnight at the facilities instead of staying at a hotel.
Such a facility is not currently available for Barcelona, even though other big clubs like Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid and even the Spanish national team have such spaces available.
For Hansi Flick, the presence of such staying facilities for the first-team is essential, and Deco also shares his mode of thinking and already had such a project in mind.
Flick’s insistence only motivates him to work on this project with even greater keenness. Although there are no deadlines in place yet, the board has already approved this project and the idea is to establish a two or three-storey facility attached to the Tito Vilanova field.
Although the first team would use it most often because of their traveling schedules, it would still not be exclusive to them and other teams would also have access to the building.
This project is still in its incubation phase, but hopefully, it will be realised soon to allow Hansi Flick to bring the best out of his team.
