Dismal home loss extends dire run of results and increases pressure on Spurs boss
Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has admitted he does not know if he will still be in charge in two weeks' time but insists he still feels the support of the dressing room.
Sunday's 2-1 home defeat to Leicester extended Spurs' poor run to just one win in 11 league games, increasing the pressure on Postecoglou.
The Australian was without 10 injured players for the match and said "at least two others", including midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, were not fit enough to start the game in less extreme circumstances.
But Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Yves Bissouma and Djed Spence are among the players who could be available in the next "10 days to two weeks", which Postecoglou hopes will give his side "the boost they need...to make an impact in the second half of the season".
But pushed on whether he would still be in charge of Spurs then, Postecoglou said: “Who knows? I reckon there is probably a fair chunk that will say no.
“When you are the manager of a football club you can be very vulnerable and isolated. I don’t feel that.
“I feel like this group of players, not for me, are giving everything for the club. I have a group of staff that is really committed. I focus on that.
“My role within that is to try and support these players. I can even see in training when the guys who are coming back come back in it is going to give everybody a lift. As I keep saying to the players, there is a fantastic opportunity this season to really make an impact and I know we can.
“But in terms of your question, is there anything I can say about that that is going to change anything that I need to do tomorrow morning? Nothing.”
Postecoglou has repeatedly called for reinforcements for his depleted squad during this month's transfer window but 26 days into January Spurs have only signed 21-year-old goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky.
Postecoglou says he is "confident" of getting help from the club before the February 3 deadline but suggested they may only land one more new player.

“I've said all along, the players need help and I've also said the club are working hard in that area to try to alleviate some of those problems, because Pape Sarr shouldn't have played today. He obviously wasn't fit," Postecoglou said.
“The players are going out there and giving everything then can because we can't call off games. We've got another game in three days' time that these players have to front up for.
“The injury situation will ease and I'm confident they will sort of help us. Even one more player coming in, just in the short term will give us an opportunity, at least to navigate these last 10 days, two weeks, of what's been a really hard slog for this group of players.”
Richarlison opened the scoring with a fine header on his first league start but was withdrawn shortly after Leicester turned the game on its head with goals from Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Khannouss in a four-minute spell at the start of the second half.
Postecoglou's decision to replace the Brazilian with Mikey Moore in the 54th-minute was met with boos from the home fans, who also vented at chairman Daniel Levy throughout the game and after the final whistle.
“He was feeling his groin mate, he should have come off at half-time but he wanted to give another 10 minutes," Postecoglou said of Richarlison. "I could see he wasn’t running well so that is why I took him off.”
On the Levy chants, he added: “Certainly something I wanted to try and do when I took on this role is to try to unify the club and create an environment here where we are all focused on the one thing. Obviously it hasn’t worked out that way. It’s understandable, like you said, the fans are not happy with our current situation. It is a difficult one to navigate because we need them right now, especially at home to create an atmosphere.
“It wasn’t that long ago we played Liverpool here and it was a great night. Everyone was focused on the one thing. Like I said, the one thing I keep saying and I think it is important to acknowledge, the players are giving everything for this club and I think that is something that needs to be acknowledged by everyone.”
He added: “I have felt all along that the players are still very committed to what we're doing. That's important to me, because I firmly believe in it and I really believe that this is as low as we've been so far this year but I still think that in these last three months we can do something really special and these players believe that.
“Right now it's very hard to visualise that when the current circumstances we're in, you just have to look at our absences today. They'll all be back. Even missing Madders [James Maddison] today, he was so good the other night. All these little things that are not allowing us to get any momentum I'm sure will change and when they change I'm really confident we can make an impact.”
