If it weren't already obvious three months ago, the bottom has fully fallen out for Tottenham Hotspur and the facade that Ange Postecoglou is the right man for the job has faded into the oblivion. Postecoglou has sunk Tottenham to a new low despite receiving more financial backing than his more accomplished predecessors, and while you could validly argue that Daniel Levy still hasn't done enough for Spurs, there is no defense for Big Ange at this stage.

Postecoglou has now taken Tottenham to 15th in the Premier League table after an atrocious 4-2 loss to Wolves this past weekend, during which Spurs were never really in the picture to get even a point. Tottenham are just two points above 17th, and if it weren't for the sheer futility of the newly promoted Premier League sides, Spurs would be well within the relegation conversation.

And yet despite the obviously putrid results, Ange Postecoglou has been displaying an ego of such gargantuan proportions that even Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Jose Mourinho would look like bashful children by comparison. The ill-fitting everyman attempts have become grating and insulting. With every "mate", Postecoglou antagonizes more fans who do not see the Tottenham manager as a casual, colloquial fighter, but, rather, a symbol of unbridled incompetence.

From explaining his arrogant ear-cupping in the most laughable manner possible to an ever-constant crusade against his own fanbase, Postecoglou is beginning to sound more like a conspiracy theorist than a coach. Everyone else, including the fans who pay tickets and push for better, is his enemy. Everything is against him. He has an Us vs. Them mentality like Jose Mourinho, except when Mou did it, as annoying as it could get, it really was about Us vs. Them in the sense that he was standing alongside his players as part of the collective. Postecoglou? He'll pretend he has the backs of the players but will throw them under the bus when he feels like it's his behind on the line.

It made sense for Mourinho to have "stans", as much as it makes sense for any manager to have a cult-like following (which is none). And that's because Mourinho won a Champions League with a non big-five club, turned Chelsea into a Premier League dynasty, conquered the greatest Barcelona side of all time, won the only treble in Italian football history, had the best Manchester United season of the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era, and had Tottenham on the doorstep of a trophy before getting fired. Mourinho has a laundry list of unique accomplishments that give him a reason to have an ego and to get people to trust in his process.

What does Postecoglou have? What reason does Postecoglou have to act like a sardonic teenager who speaks to the press and Tottenham fans as if he were being told not to ditch school? His words have become so hollow and chlidish precisely because he has accomplished nothing at the highest level of football. He is an unproven manager whom Tottenham took a gamble on, and now that his purple patch his over and he's facing hardship, he is showing his true colors.

Postecoglou is nothing more than a cardboard cut-out of a manager, the next in line of a so-called new era of coaches that has no grasp on the fine art of this job. Whereas the likes of Xabi Alonso, Hansi Flick, and Julian Nagelsmann understand how to relate to players and fight when the going gets tough, Postecoglou, like Erik ten Hag, doubles down on his arrogance and makes things worse. He has no foresight, no humility, and no concept of team. Postecoglou is toast; he is all the worst traits of a showman like Mourinho with none of the talent to actually put on a show.
