As the 2024/25 season progresses, Real Madrid are already strategising for the summer transfer window of 2025, keeping a keen eye on the Bundesliga for potential signings.

The Merengues, known for their long-term planning, are eager to seize any opportunity in the market.

As has already been reported, two prominent targets have emerged for Real Madrid for 2025: Florian Wirtz and Jamal Musiala, both 21 years old and pivotal players for their respective teams.

Wirtz is making waves at Bayer Leverkusen under the tutelage of Xabi Alonso, while Musiala has established himself as a star at Bayern Munich.

Stuck in a dilemma

However, according to reports from Defensa Central, Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid are facing a dilemma in choosing between Wirtz and Musiala for 2025.

Both players are already key members of their current club and the German national team and are touted to be among the Bundesliga’s brightest stars for the next decade. As such, neither of them will come cheap.

Recent speculation from Germany suggests that Wirtz may be closer to signing for Real Madrid in the near future, with the club believing that they are the favourites to land him despite strong competition.

Currently, Wirtz holds a market value of approximately €130 million, as per Transfermarkt, signaling that any move would be a significant investment.

Should Wirtz join the squad, it could jeopardise any potential deal for Musiala.

The Bayern Munich ace has a contract with Bayern Munich until 2026, meaning he will be entering the final year of his deal next summer. No progress in negotiations by then could open the doors for suitors, like Real Madrid, to make a swoop.

Despite his contract situation, Musiala would also cost a hefty transfer fee and as mentioned earlier, if Wirtz arrives, there would be no room for the Bayern ace.

So, Real Madrid find themselves in a sticky situation as they must choose between two generational talents – both of whom would elevate the level of the squad.
