Real Madrid have a crunch game awaiting them this weekend as they visit their cross-town rivals Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Carlo Ancelotti will be without some of his important players, including Kylian Mbappe, for this game. However, Eduardo Camavinga might return to the pitch in this game.
The Frenchman has been training with the rest of his teammates for the last few days, and can even start the game. As MARCA has reported, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed his availability for this game as he spoke to the press ahead of this game, but did not reveal whether he will actually play:
“He is available and therefore can play 90 minutes or zero minutes.“
The Italian also regretted the lack of availability of the French star Kylian Mbappe for this game but ensured that his team will not miss him too much:
“Without Mbappé, things change a bit but not much. It’s a shame he’s not here, but we can manage without him. We’re used to playing without him.“
Keeping the same diplomatic approach, Ancelotti also believed that Vinicius would win the Ballon d’Or this October, but the team would not be affected too much if he did not:
“I believe he’s going to win it, but if not, it’s no big deal. We’ll keep moving forward, and so will he, but I think he deserves it.“
Vinicius Junior had an incredible last year in which he won the La Liga and the UEFA Champions League titles. However, he has not been able to start this season in a spectacular fashion, and there have been some doubts whether he will be able to win the biggest individual prize in football. Hopefully, he will put in a performance to dispel any such doubts against Atletico.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Camavinga will be able to step on the pitch for this game, but his availability will be a boost for the team nonetheless.
