‘An example’ – Forgotten Barcelona star continuing to train alone at the club’s base | OneFootball

An out-of-favour member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona has this week continued to train individually at the club’s base.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Oriol Romeu as the player in question.

It has of course long been common knowledge that Romeu does not feature in the plans of Barcelona boss Hansi Flick for the season ahead.

As much was made clear upon the former Southampton man being omitted from the Blaugrana’s travelling squad for their recent pre-season tour of Asia.

As alluded to above, though, this has not stopped Romeu from maintaining his status as the ultimate professional.

As per a report from MD:

‘Romeu has been at the club’s facilities training nonstop and alone, during the time the squad has been training and playing in Japan and South Korea. This Tuesday, Romeu visited the Ciutat Esportiva to continue his personal preparation.’

Such efforts on the part of the 33-year-old come with a view to sealing a move to a new club before the summer is out.
