Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak arrived at the Magpies training ground just after 3pm today and he continues to work away from the rest of the first-team on his own training regime, according to Sky Sports.

The wantaway Newcastle player made it clear last night that he wants to leave the St James’ Park club, breaking his silence on the transfer stand-off with the Toons on social media.

The Magpies replied hours later, hinting that an exit may not be on the cards for him this summer.

Newcastle also made it clear that they will welcome back to the team whenever he is ready.

However, spotting him for the first time at their facilities since going public with a statement on his future last night means nothing.

The Daily Mail have uploaded pictures of the former Real Sociedad star on their website, and he does not look like someone pleased to be back in training.

Isak is only fulfilling terms of his current contract and will be looking for ways to get out.

He has burned the bridges with the Newcastle fans, and it will be interesting to see how they will welcome him back if he stays beyond this summer.

The Sweden international could now look to hand in a transfer request, but it is unlikely to change anything as the Toons have no plans to sell him if a replacement is not secured.

Newcastle want Brentford forward Yoane Wissa but the Bees are playing hardball, rejecting a bid totalling £40 million from the Magpies this afternoon.

Signing one new striker, let alone two, has proven tricky for the Toons all summer, and manager Eddie Howe will be desperate to see that change.

There are around 11 days left in the transfer window, and they have very little time left to get a deal for a number 9 done.

They will keep trying all they can to get their hands on one or two forwards until the very closing minutes on transfer deadline day, but their chances are looking slimmer each passing day.
