The 20-year-old cut a frustrated figure after the Europa League final loss
Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly been told by head coach Ruben Amorim he will be allowed to join a new club this summer.
The Argentina international’s future at Old Trafford was called into question after his - and his brother’s - reaction to events surrounding the Europa League final defeat to Tottenham.
Garnacho did not start in Bilbao as Amorim opted for Mason Mount in one of the two attacking midfield roles behind lone striker Rasmus Hojlund.
Though with United searching for an equaliser, the winger was introduced as a 71st-minute substitute, and arguably had his side’s best chance of the entire game with an effort that forced into a Guglielmo Vicario save.
Speaking after Wednesday's loss, a disgruntled Garnacho sounded like he was leaning towards leaving in a social media post, writing: "Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know.
"The final will influence (my decision) but the whole season, the situation of the club."
Amorim addressed the media on Saturday for the first time since the loss that meant United will not be playing European football next season, and refused to be drawn into conversation about Garnacho’s future.
"I always speak to my players but the focus now is on the last game," he said. "We have a plan and we prepared for both situations, with Champions League and without. Now we have to focus on the last game."

However, as first reported by The Athletic, Amorim has informed Garnacho that he is free to leave during the summer transfer window.
The 20-year-old was heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit in the January window as Chelsea and Napoli were said to be interested in a deal, but nothing materialised and the Argentine stayed put.
Man Utd wrap up their Premier League campaign at home to Aston Villa on Sunday and it remains to be seen if Garnacho will be involved for what could be his final appearance for the club.
United appear to be working on a replacement for Garnacho in any case as they are expected to expected to trigger the £62.5m release clause in Matheus Cunha’s contract with Wolves.
