Egyptian giants refuse to sell Malian star amid Saudi interest
Al Ahly Shut Down Al Hazem’s Bid for Aliou Dieng
Al Ahly've officially turned down transfer offer from Saudi Pro League side Al Hazem for Malian international Aliou Dieng making it clear the midfield star isn't for sale this summer.
According to sources within the club, Al Ahly sent formal letter to Al Hazem rejecting the proposal outright stressing that Dieng's a key part of their project and isn't on the market during the ongoing transfer window.
In parallel Al Ahly officials have begun steps to extend and improve Dieng’s contract rewarding his consistent performances since joining the team and securing his place in the core squad for the coming seasons.
Dieng’s role has become even more critical following the departure of Amr El Solia. The player's shown full commitment to the club’s vision and turned down offers from both Al Hazem & Al Kholood.
Coach Jose Riveiro's also insisted on keeping Dieng especially after his standout display against Porto in the Club World cup which ended in dramatic 4 - 4 draw.
