AI ranks all 2025/2026 League One stadiums from worst to best, with three teams getting a perfect score

On paper, the 2025/2026 League One season promises to deliver a memorable season - with a mix of fallen giants and underdogs competing in the third-tier.

The relegated trio from the Championship - Cardiff City, Plymouth Argyle, and Luton Town - are surely desperate to secure immediate returns to the second-tier.

Whereas those three promoted to the division, in Bradford City, Port Vale, Doncaster Rovers, and AFC Wimbledon, will be wanting to establish themselves after successful League Two campaigns.

Without forgetting the likes of Reading and Bolton Wanderers - among the big teams facing another term in League One - fans can expect to visit some nice, and others not so very nice, stadiums throughout the 46-game season.

FLW have asked Chatgpt, the generative AI, to rank all the League One grounds out of ten ahead of the upcoming season.

Finishing bottom of the pack is Adams Park, home to Wycombe Wanderers.

With a capacity of just over 10k, AI says the ground is awkward due to being on an industrial estate, even with a mountain in view - you can see it in the above picture taken in the 90s. It does give some kudos for the charm the mountain brings but calls it remote with a lack of atmosphere.

23 BetWright Stadium - Leyton Orient - 5/10

Traditionally known as Brisbane Road - AI says the 9k seats in Leyton are squeezed onto a small plot of land. It does note the vintage character it has for being so old - but calls it claustrophobic with little facilities.

22 Lamex Stadium - Stevenage - 5/10

The only positives that were given for The Lamex was it's parking and cheap prices to visit - with AI calling it a one-level bowl that isn't worth the day trip - which is probably all the more reason to go.

One of the smallest grounds in the EFL, the Pirelli holds under 7k and was built in 2005.

AI likes the hospitality and friendly vibe but knocked it for size and atmosphere - oh and also says Burton's on the edge of nowhere.

20 Brick Community Stadium - Wigan Athletic - 5/10

Let's be honest, everyone still calls it The DW. One of the biggest stadiums in the league, AI thinks it's a big and empty unless Wigan are in good form.

It does score well for being in a good location for shopping - but football fans aren't there for that.

19 Plough Lane - AFC Wimbledon - 6/10

The Don's new Plough Lane replaced their former home in Milton Keynes. AI likes the modern feel it has but calls it small and apparently lacks history.

18 Eco-Power Stadium - Doncaster Rovers - 6/10

An all-seater stadium of over 15k - The Eco-Power or Keepmoat Stadium opened in 2007.

AI says no roof over the south stand can make it freezing - and says there's nothing original about it, essentially saying it's a generic bowl - but it does like the apparent big video screens.

17 Sixfields Stadium - Northampton Town - 6/10

Gambar artikel:AI grades all 24 EFL League One stadiums out of 10 - Plymouth Argyle get 9/10 score

AI says Sixfields can do the job of hosting a game of football but that's it. It gives the Cobblers' stadium a somewhat respectable score for being clean - but says there's no legroom and, quite funnily, a severe lack of toilets.

16 Vale Park - Port Vale - 6/10

Gambar artikel:AI grades all 24 EFL League One stadiums out of 10 - Plymouth Argyle get 9/10 score

There's no denying Vale Park is old - it's been home to Vale since the 1950s - and some views are restricted.

AI says the cagey feel is a good novelty factor and the atmosphere is good when full - but like Wigan, says it's often half-full. It gave marks for a proud feel but lower marks for being on the outskirts of an industrial estate.

15 Edgeley Park - Stockport County - 6/10

Gambar artikel:AI grades all 24 EFL League One stadiums out of 10 - Plymouth Argyle get 9/10 score

Edgeley Park has never had a full makeover since 1902, so it's a little slice of history.

AI thinks going there is like watching a big team in a small place, noting it's quite fun and likes the atmosphere of the Cheadle End terrace - but doesn't like how un-modern it is.
