Arsenal’s rising star Michelle Agyemang has been named UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 Young Player of the Tournament, capping off a breakout summer that saw the 18-year-old play a pivotal role in England’s historic Euro title defence.
Agyemang was instrumental throughout the knockout stages, coming off the bench to make a difference when it mattered most. Her first major impact came in the group stage against France, when she was introduced in the 86th minute and immediately brought a new dynamic to the game, helping Keira Walsh grab a late consolation goal in a 2-1 defeat.
But it was in the quarter-final against Sweden where she truly announced herself. With England trailing, Agyemang scored the equaliser to send the tie into penalties, which the Lionesses went on to win 3-2. In the semi-final against Italy, she was the hero again, netting in the 96th minute to rescue England and force extra-time. That vital goal gave Chloe Kelly the platform to win it, sending Sarina Wiegman’s side into the final.

In Sunday’s dramatic final against Spain, Agyemang was introduced in the 71st minute for fellow Gunner Alessia Russo. The match went to penalties after finishing 1-1, and though Beth Mead saw her retaken penalty saved, England prevailed 3-1 in the shootout with Kelly netting the decisive spot kick.
Agyemang’s recognition as the tournament’s best young player was richly deserved. She finished the campaign with two crucial goals and an unforgettable impact on England’s road to glory. She joined a strong Arsenal contingent in the squad, including Beth Mead, Alessia Russo, Leah Williamson, Lotte Wubben-Moy and Chloe Kelly – all of whom picked up their second Euros winners’ medals. For Agyemang, it was her first, along with the individual accolade that confirms her status as one of Europe’s brightest young stars.
On loan to Brighton’s Seagulls last season, it remains to be seen if Agyemang will now return to the Arsenal fold and feature for Arsenal’s first team – after that Euro’s performance one would certainly expect so..
The club’s academy product has now taken her game to a new level, and Arsenal fans will be hoping this is just the beginning.
How far can Agyemang go in an Arsenal shirt?
