In a recent turn of events, it has come to light through SPORT that Neymar has set his sights on a return to Barcelona, with his agent Pini Zahavi working behind the scenes to make it happen.
The outlet suggests that the Brazilian forward is keen on rejoining the Catalan club, even willing to arrive as a free agent while accepting a reasonable salary.
However, despite his name being mentioned as a potential option, Barcelona have shown little interest in pursuing the move.
The coaching staff, in particular, are completely opposed to the idea and do not even want to entertain discussions about his return.
Zahavi, who holds significant influence at Barcelona, has floated the possibility by emphasising that Neymar remains eager for a second spell at the club.
His objective is to compete at the highest level once again and regain his place in the global football spotlight.

Financially, the move could be feasible since Neymar would not command a transfer fee, which is an important factor given Barcelona’s uncertain budget for the summer transfer window.
However, unless the club manages to offload one of their key players, spending on new signings will remain a challenge.
Despite the financial conditions making his return a theoretical possibility, Neymar is just one of several names under consideration by the club’s sporting management.
There is no doubt about his quality when fully fit, and his performances while recovering at Santos have reinforced his ability to perform at the highest level.
However, the major obstacle remains the reluctance of the coaching staff, who have no desire to see him back at the club.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta had explored the idea of bringing Neymar back two years ago, but the Brazilian opted for a move to Al Hilal instead.
Now, the big question is whether Zahavi can work out a way to bring him back. The chances may be slim, but in football, nothing is ever completely impossible.
