Daniele Rugani’s agent, Davide Torchia, refuses to rule out the 30-year-old defender’s return to Turin after a one-year spell at Ajax: ‘He has showcased his ability to maintain a top level in the Netherlands.’

Rugani joined Francesco Farioli’s Ajax on loan from Juventus last summer.

The former Empoli star has scored one goal in 24 appearances with the Dutch side, who are dominating in the Eredivisie with a nine-point lead over second-placed PSV.

Rugani is formally on loan until the end of the season, and his agent feels the defender will still be useful to Juventus and their new coach, Igor Tudor, next season.

“Daniele has also showcased his ability to maintain a top level in the Netherlands. Juventus knows him well and knows what he can guarantee, also in terms of experience,” he said.
