KV Mechelen have confirmed that winger Nikola Storm has departed the club after seven seasons. The 30-year-old winger has moved to Turkish side Antalyaspor, having been linked with a move to Turkish football for a few months now. If it was not for injuries, Storm would likely have left Mechelen some time ago. However, his level has not hit the heights of the 2021/2022 campaign.
Storm leaves KV Mechelen having played 237 games for the side after joining from Club Brugge back in the summer of 2018. He has scored 52 goals, with his best season being the aforementioned 2021/2022 Pro League campaign. During that season, Storm played 41 games for KV Mechelen, scoring 16 goals and providing five assists. Last year he played 33 games, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
Storm did not feature in KV Mechelen’s recent victory over Club Brugge and it was clear now that the transfer was close. His last game for the side was their opening day 1-1 draw with newly promoted Zulte Waregem.
