AC Milan are considering a summer move for AZ Alkmaar midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, according to Calciomercato.
The Rossoneri are aiming to bring in a new midfielder in the wake of Ismael Bennacer’s long-term injury, whose return has been earmarked for later this year.
Several names are being considered by Milan owner Gerry Cardinale, who is gearing towards a new era at the San Siro.
Reijnders is among the younger players being targeted, with Milan scouts keeping track of his progress.
The 24-year-old has grown into one of the best midfielders in the Eredivisie and received his first-ever call-up to the Netherlands squad for the Nations League finals earlier this month.
He could follow in the footsteps of his compatriot and ex-teammate Teun Koopmeiners, who has become one of the top players in Serie A since joining Atalanta.
Reijnders helped AZ to a fourth place in Eredivisie and the semi-finals of the Europa Conference League last term.
Several European clubs have Reijnders on their wishlist, and he could cost around €10 million.
Milan are already working on a deal to bring in Daichi Kamada on a free transfer, with a verbal agreement reportedly in place. Fenerbahce sensation Arda Guler is also on their radar.
Marcus Thuram, another sought-after free agent, remains Milan’s priority target to reinforce their attack.
