AC Milan consider move for Real Betis star | OneFootball

The powers that be at Italian heavyweights AC Milan have set their sights on the signature of Real Betis star Johnny Cardoso.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, citing Italian sources, who point towards midfielder Cardoso as something of a priority target on the part of the Rossoneri.

On the lookout for reinforcements in the middle of the park owing to the latest injury setback suffered by Ismaël Bennacer, the San Siro brass consider the profile of the American international as ideal for Paulo Fonseca’s setup.

Milan, in turn, are giving consideration to a January assault for his services.

One major stumbling block for the Serie A giants, however, comes in the form of rival interest on the part of Tottenham Hotspur.

As part of their agreement to sell Giovani Lo Celso to Real Betis during the summer, Tottenham secured a right of first refusal on Cardoso’s signing, for the summer of 2025.

The Lilywhites are entitled to bring the 23-year-old in for a sum of €25 million.
