Brenden Aaronson praised the United States' "great performance" after their 2-1 win over Haiti secured top spot in Group D at the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The USMNT had already sealed qualification for the quarter-finals before Sunday’s match in Arlington, but a refreshed lineup ensured the Stars and Stripes completed the group stage with a perfect record.
Speaking after the match, Aaronson, who provided the assist for Malik Tillman's opener, pointed to the hunger shown by those brought into the starting XI.
"I thought it was a great performance. I think with the four changes, we had a lot of guys who wanted to show the coach what we can do, so I think that's another positive we can take out of it."
Despite a first half equaliser from Haiti, the US regained control and secured the win thanks to a second-half strike from substitute Patrick Agyemang.
Aaronson insisted there was never any danger of the team easing off, despite already having a place in the last eight guaranteed.
"I know we were already through to the next round, but you also want to finish top of the group, so yeah, I think it was a great game and we could have won by even more goals."
Aaronson and the United States will now turn their attention to the quarter-finals, where they are set to face Costa Rica next weekend in Minneapolis.
