‘A phenomenon’ – Man City’s Phil Foden hails ‘incredible’ Barcelona youngster | OneFootball

Manchester City star Phil Foden has this week moved to reveal his appreciation for a member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona.

The player in question? Lamine Yamal

Midfielder Foden, for his part, is currently in the midst of final preparations for a showdown with one of Spanish football’s two biggest clubs.

This comes as Man City prepare to play host to Real Madrid in the Champions League playoffs.

Speaking to the media this week, though, it was a member of the frontline at Real’s arch rivals Barcelona whom Foden was keen to lavish praise upon.

During an interview with Amazon Prime Video Sport, as cited by Mundo Deportivo, the reigning Premier League Player of the Year was asked to name world football’s standout young talent.

And Foden did not hesitate in pointing towards Lamine Yamal in his response:

“The most prodigious player in the world? Lamine Yamal. At Barça, the kid on the right wing. A phenomenon of nature. I look at him and his decisions for such a young kid are incredible, one of the best I’ve seen. He has everything.

“One thing I like about him is that I don’t think pressure affects him, he plays with a smile on his face and just enjoys football, as he should.”
