AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter praised a “fantastic” Arsenal side for their “deserved” 3-0 victory in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Dominant in the first half, the Gunners only took a 1-0 lead into half-time thanks to Bukayo Saka’s effort at the back-post, however, Mikel Arteta’s side managed the game well, building their advantage late on with Saka doubling his account on the night before Kai Havertz provided the finishing touch.
Hütter lamented elements of his side’s performance but heaped praise on their opponent on the night. “We gave them lots of gifts. We were lucky in the first half that it wasn’t more for Arsenal,” began the Monaco manager in a post-match press conference, attended by Get French Football News.
“At this level, it is impossible and not acceptable to make the mistakes that we made but I was happy with the way that we started the second half and I saw some very good things against a fantastic team with a magnificent style of play. We are talking about a deserved victory for Arsenal,” concluded Hütter.
