Brentford, along with the likes of Bournemouth, are braced for widespread transfer interest in some of their most trusted lieutenants this summer.
Manchester United look almost certain to be involved, too, as they have been heavily linked with players from both clubs in the form of Bryan Mbeumo and Antoine Semenyo.
It appears as though INEOS are intending to switch up their transfer approach from their first two windows in charge by targeting Premier League-proven stars; as it stands, Matheus Cunha looks like he’ll be first through the door at Old Trafford, while Liam Delap is their first-choice centre-forward target.

Now, according to Transfer News Live, the Red Devils have taken their first steps in pursuit of Mbeumo, testing Brentford’s resolve with a £50 million bid.
The 25-year-old is contracted to the club until 2026. However, the Bees have the option of extending his deal by a further year, which they’ll likely do to protect his resale value.
Mbeumo, who ex-Chelsea defender Jason Cundy dubbed as a ‘mini-[Mohammed] Salah’, is enjoying a career-best campaign this term, making it no surprise he’s established himself as one of the most sought-after attackers in the top flight.
He has notched a hugely impressive 19 goals and seven assists, putting United’s current forwards to shame amidst their calamitous domestic season.
While Thomas Frank would do anything to retain his top performers for the foreseeable future, he is resigned to losing the likes of Mbeumo and Yoanne Wissa in the coming months.
The Danish boss recently said of Mbeumo: “If the price is right – and that’s going to be expensive – is coming, then I’m sure the club will be open to it. I’ve said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time, we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world that aren’t selling clubs.”
