2026 World Cup qualifiers: The 25 Pharaohs called up to face Ethiopia and Burkina Faso!

The technical staff of the Egyptian national team, led by the duo Hossam Hassan and Ibrahim Hassan, has called up 25 players for the two upcoming matches against Ethiopia and Burkina Faso, scheduled for September 5 and 9 as part of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.Egypt competes in Group A alongside Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Sierra Leone.The "Pharaohs" lead the standings with 16 points, five points ahead of Burkina Faso in second. Sierra Leone is third with 8 points, followed by Ethiopia (4th, 6 points), level with Guinea-Bissau (5th). Djibouti brings up the rear with just one point.

Notably, this is the first call-up for Amr El Gazzar, defender from National Bank of Egypt, as well as the return of Mohannad Lashin, who has been absent since the last Africa Cup of Nations.
