Five players to watch at 2025 Copa America

Linda Caicedo – Colombia (Real Madrid)

The 20-year-old enjoyed an excellent season with Real Madrid scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 33 games.

At the 2022 edition of the Copa America, she was named Player of the Tournament at the age of 18 after helping Colombia reach the final.

If Colombia are to end Brazil’s reign of domination at the tournament, they will need Caicedo to be at her best.

Marta – Brazil (Orlando Pride)

Brazil legend Marta recently returned after previously announcing her retirement at the end of the last Olympics.

She is seeking a fourth title having won the Copa America in 2003, 2010 and 2018.

The 39-year-old is a six-time FIFA World Player of the Year and has scored 119 goals for her country.

Kerolin – Brazil (Manchester City)

Manchester City player Kerolin is another Brazilian player who could have a big tournament.

Kerolin, who joined City in January, is gifted on the ball and has scored eight goals in 47 appearances for her country.

Jessica Martinez – Paraguay (Al-Hilal)

Jessica Martinez is one of the most lethal strikers in world football and scored 14 goals in 17 games this past season.

She is her country’s leading goalscorer and has played for major clubs including Real Madrid and Sevilla.

Martinez has netted five goals across her two prior Copa America tournaments.

Kishi Nunez – Argentina (Boca Juniors)

Following Estefania Banini’s retirement, Argentina are looking for the next big thing.

That player could be teenage forward Kishi Nunez, who could enjoy a breakthrough tournament for her country.

Another player to watch out for is Yamila Rodriguez who will be a more experienced option in the squad.
