2 Real Madrid & 2 Barcelona stars nominated for La Liga U23 Player of the Season | OneFootball

Up-and-coming talents from Spanish football’s two leading clubs have on Monday been nominated for an end-of-season La Liga award.

The accolade in question? The division’s U23 Player of the Season.

The candidates for the standout U23 performer in Spain’s top-flight for 2024/25 are made up of the winners of the Player of the Month prizes over the course of the year.

This means that a pair of players from Hansi Flick’s triumphant Barcelona’s squad are in the running, in the form of Lamine Yamal, and Pedri.

So too are leading figures from the first-team setup at runners-up Real Madrid, namely Arda Güler and Jude Bellingham.

Elsewhere on the shortlist come all of Albert Moleiro (Las Palmas), Fábio Silva (also Las Palmas, on loan from Wolves), and Diego López of Valencia.
