The FC Barcelona attacking line has been playing at a very high level this season. Even though their performances have dropped to some extent in the last few weeks, the numbers of the front three of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal are still good.
This season, the Brazilian has scored 17 goals and provided 8 assists in 25 matches, while the Pole has scored 23 goals and provided 2 assists in 24 games. Yamal has also scored 6 goals and provided 11 assists this season.
While Yamal’s numbers are not bad by any standard, he is still lagging behind his colleagues in the Barcelona attack in the goalscoring department. Throughout the year, he has scored 12 goals and provided 18 assists for Barcelona, and scored another goal and provided 8 more assists with the Spanish national team.
Thus, having scored 13 goals and provided 26 assists in 2024 in total, SPORT reports that goalscoring is now the area where the youngster wants to improve the most in the coming months.
For now, he is focusing on recovering from his syndesmosis in the right ankle and seems to be working on this recovery in quite high spirits.
With this new tool of goalscoring added to his arsenal, Yamal can go on to build over the incredible 2024 that he has experienced. This year, he has grown to become one of the most important parts of the Barcelona team. Similarly, the Spaniard also won the UEFA EURO 2024 with Spain, playing an integral role in his national team’s campaign in that competition.
Similarly, he also has received a lot of individual glory. The €180m-rated Barcelona prodigy won his first major international award, the Golden Boy award, some weeks ago, and also received the Best Emerging Player Award at the Globe Soccer Awards more recently.
He also stood high in the ranking for Ballon d’Or and The Best awards, and hopefully, he will actually win these two latter awards by adding this element of regular goalscoring to his game.
