Robin Propper’s Rangers nightmare just will not end. Signed under Philippe Clement’s misguided recruitment drive, the Dutchman has stalled what should have been a routine exit. Despite the club making it abundantly clear they have no interest in keeping him, Propper continues to hang around like an unwanted guest refusing to leave. It is not just about performance either. He simply does not fit, has no purpose, and worse, seems content to collect a wage without contributing a single thing.

As revealed in Ibrox Noise, Rangers are set to take a hit on this one. A signing that never made any sense is now becoming a bigger problem by refusing to go quietly. The club has attempted to offload him, with several Dutch sides contacted, but Propper has reportedly stalled talks ‘waiting for Rangers’ feedback’. As Ibrox Noise reported, he was even spotted talking with an agent about a move away, but that too seems to have fizzled out.

What makes it worse is that no one at the club appears to be defending him. No coaches, no players, no staff have come out to even suggest he might have a second chance. He is a ghost in the dressing room, a reminder of a poor transfer window and a boardroom that failed to deliver what was needed. The latest news makes it plain that Propper’s camp is waiting for a better offer, while Rangers are just desperate to cut ties.

The situation is not helped by external ownership complications either. According to Sport Witness, a deal had been agreed in principle but was then delayed due to issues on the buying club’s end. That said, the player himself has done little to accelerate anything. The reality is that if Propper really wanted to leave, he would have by now. There is a strong feeling he is simply happy to wait out his contract.

This is the sort of transfer mistake that Rangers can no longer afford. A player not wanted, not needed, and still on the books with wages draining the club. Propper has to go. Whether he wants to or not.
